Health Care General Contractor in Salmon, Idaho

Mark Guho Construction, a trusted health care general contractor in Salmon, Idaho, partnered with Steele Memorial Medical Center to deliver a new 18,000-square-foot Physicians’ Clinic on the hospital’s downtown campus. Designed to interconnect with the existing 12,000-square-foot clinic, now converted to specialty services, the facility includes 21 exam rooms, two procedure rooms, a lab, three nurse stations, multiple doctor offices, and a community education/conference center. This modern medical office enhances Steele Memorial’s ability to provide comprehensive health care services to the remote Salmon community.

The project required extensive site demolition, including the hospital’s active helipad and maintenance building. MGC constructed a new helicopter landing pad adjacent to the emergency room, meeting all FAA requirements, while simultaneously reconstructing the hospital’s emergency entrance and parking. During construction, emergency flights were temporarily rerouted to the local airport, and just hours after the new helipad opened, it successfully received its first Life Flight patient. A third phase included building a new steel-structured maintenance facility with full site development, enabled through collaboration with neighboring property owners. This multi-phased project demonstrates MGC’s expertise in complex health care construction while maintaining critical hospital operations.
